Masatoshi Sato

Masatoshi Sato is a Professor at Universidad Andrés Bello, Chile. His research agenda is to conduct theoretical and applied research that facilitates the dialogue between practitioners and researchers. He is the recipient of the ACTFL/MLJ Paul Pimsleur Award and the PROSE Award. He is the Co-Director of TESOLgraphics and Montreal Institute of Second Language Acquisition (MonISLA). He is the Editor of Language Awareness.

Gary Barkhuizen

Gary Barkhuizen

University of Auckland, New Zealand

Gary Barkhuizen is professor of applied linguistics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of language teacher education, teacher and learner identity, study abroad, and narrative inquiry, and these are reflected in his many publications, conference presentations, and books, which include Narrative Research in Applied Linguistics (2013) (Cambridge), Reflections on Language Teacher Identity Research (2017) (Routledge), Qualitative Research Topics in Language Teacher Education (2019) (Routledge), Language Teacher Educator Identity (2021) (Cambridge), and Narrative Inquiry in Language Teaching and Learning Research (2nd edn) (2025) (Routledge). His most recent book is The Language Teacher Education Casebook (2026) (Cambridge). In 2017 he won the TESOL International Association's award for Distinguished Research.

Jorge Díaz Cintas

Jorge Díaz Cintas

Jorge Díaz Cintas is Professor of Translation and founding director of the Centre for Translation Studies (CenTraS) at University College London. He is the author of numerous articles, special issues and books on audiovisual translation, including Subtitling: Concepts and Practices (with Aline Remael, 2021). A pioneer in audiovisual translation, Jorge is a frequent speaker at international conferences and events, and has offered consultancy services to the European Parliament, European Commission, OOONA, Deluxe and Netflix, among others. He is the Chief Editor of the Peter Lang series New Trends in Translation Studies and the recipient of the Jan Ivarsson Award (ESIST, 2014) and the Xènia Martínez Award (ATRAE, 2015) for invaluable services to the field of audiovisual translation.
